Historical Analysis
Ray Bradbury, a science-fiction author who used a unique style, gave us a cautionary tale in Fahrenheit 451. Bradbury warns us about censorship and violence towards ideas. In this essay I will explore the books relation to Stalin’s murder of people based on their ideas and and how the Nazis burnt books because of the ideas they contain. One last influence that I will explore is the that I will explore is the threat of nuclear war. Overall Bradbury warns us about leaders who attempt to dictate the lives of the citizens.
The book “Fahrenheit 451” is partially based off how Stalin killed people because of their ideas but the book is more directly influenced by the book “Darkness at Noon” which is based on those events. In the book “Darkness at Noon” the character “Rubashov” represents the many Bolshevik that were falsely charged charged with treason. In “Fahrenheit 451” the books represent Rubashov and the other Bolshevik and Beatty and the firemen represent No. 1 and his men.
Another example of influence for Fahrenheit 451 is the Nazi book burnings in Nazi Germany and Austria. They claimed that the books were "Action against the Un-German Spirit", which was to climax in a literary purge or "cleansing by fire”. Like Nazi Germany, the government fears that people who read will acquire knowledge that will lead them to question their government as well. The difference is that in Nazi Germany, the government forced people to burn books; in Fahrenheit 451, most people are happy to burn books and they don’t see the value in books as evidenced here “No wonder books stopped selling, the critics said ”.

dystopian short story
In CC-1 7, society is split into two sections. Aero District and Industrial District AKA the IND. Nobody really knows what goes on in the IND, nobody know what IND means, but then again nobody actually knows where it is or if it is real. In building B-29 on floor 73 this day started out like any other for a middle aged man named Harry, for he is one of very few to have the pleasure of working on the simulations. Not only is he very good at his job, he is also very happy with his job.
However, his daughter Emily is certainly not. Emily had some old simulations that were most likely for educational purposes to see what it would be like to live in those times there were a lot of those in the storage room which was mostly full of out of commission equipment. What she calls the “old world” was a time where people would run free, cause havak and purposefully harm each other. This era of chaos has no definitive end but it is known how it was ended, it is believed that the end of this era was caused by the “pure reality” act of 2055 which brought society to where it is today. Out of everyone on their floor the only person that agreed with Emily was herself but she did not know that she thought that everyone was just keeping their opinions to themselves but in reality everyone was perfectly content with their lives because they knew it was all for your safety.
As it became time to start up the simulators they realized that the pods were not working. but the lights were still on? Almost everything was still on but the only thing not powered was the pods so they went to check the repair bot only to see a broken charging dock scrap metal this is when some started to panic. just as the mood started to calm the sudden realisation that the only way to stay alive was with food and water they all knew that but the pods were the only way to get food and they were offline how would they live without for who knows how long without food or water? and they knew that eventually they would lose the back up power which was the only thing keeping the lights on, would be gone the same way that they lost the main power. They knew that the only way that they could possibly survive this is if they could think outside of the box and act outside their own boundaries.
Mask Project
It was a warm and sunny day. I’d been invited to go to my friend Dave’s house to hang out. There was only one issue: I needed a ride. I tried to call everyone and ask for a ride; no one answered and so I ended up having to call Dave and tell him I couldn’t go. This was no longer a problem for my older siblings, because they had their own cars. Imagine being the youngest child, the only one who can’t go places. For me, being the youngest child, I have to bother someone in my family to give me a ride. On the other hand, sometimes I get the occasional help with my schoolwork from my older siblings. As the youngest child, I have been socialized both negatively and positively because of my age and my birth order.
Being a part of any social group has a certain role that you are expected to play. The definition of socialization is a continuing process whereby an individual acquires a personal identity and learns the norms, values, behavior, and skills social appropriate to his or her social position. One example of how socialization works is the Stanford Prison Experiment. In this experiment, people are stripped of their identity, thrown into a system that they are unfamiliar with and treated like less than human. Although the experiment only lasted half as long as it was supposed to, because they felt it had gone too far. The lesson from this experiment is that if someone is given power over someone they will abuse that power and, if someone has power taken away, they will accept that role. This affects me because as a younger person I have less power.
One way I have been socialized negatively because of my age is some people associate being young with being innocent and the baby, but others may think of youth as being naive or rude. One example of being treated differently because of my age would be the common teenage stereotypes. Teenagers are commonly seen as arrogant trouble makers. Say if 3 people of different age groups made the same mistake people would react differently to the same problem.
Some positive examples of being socialized would be that parents are often more lenient on the younger child. In my case, I have a older sibling that has attended AHS so I had an idea what it would be like and knew what some teachers were like. Another benefit is being able to learn from the mistakes my older siblings have made and try not to make them as well.
In conclusion, although there are negatives and positives to being the youngest, there are negatives no matter where you are on the birth order. In my own family i can see the effect of socialization where my family has gone into the roles that society has made. Even if I have to ask for a ride, I have more people to ask.
